Maxim's journey in hospitality is built on five years of hands-on experience across the diverse landscapes of East Africa. Before joining Zanzania Tours Co. as Business Development Executive, Maxim worked directly with premier hotels, restaurants, and cafes across Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda. This regional background gives him a deep, practical understanding of world-class guest services and operational excellence.

As an avid solo traveler, Maxim has explored East Africa's hidden corners firsthand, giving him a unique perspective on what makes a journey truly unforgettable. Today, he combines his professional hospitality expertise with his personal passion for exploration to design exceptional itineraries across the region, with a dedicated focus on showcasing the unmatched beauty, wildlife, and culture of Tanzania.

Alongside his work at Zanzania Tours Co., Maxim is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of DipGuides, a Zanzibar-focused travel platform built to help travelers connect, discover, and experience the island together. Through DipGuides, he focuses on bridging the gap between travelers and local tourism businesses by creating easier access to trusted experiences, local insights, and meaningful connections. His dual role creates a strong synergy between Zanzania Tours' on-the-ground tourism expertise and DipGuides' digital approach to travel discovery, allowing both partners to better understand and serve the evolving needs of modern travelers while creating greater visibility and opportunities for local tourism providers.

In 2025, I visited Zanzibar with my children for a family holiday. During our stay, we met Sam, who was our tour guide. What started as a few friendly conversations quickly turned into a genuine friendship.

As we spent more time together, Sam shared the opportunities and challenges of running a small local tour business on the island. With many years of experience in digital transformation and AI, I offered to help, not as a consultant, but simply as a friend who wanted to contribute.

Today, I support Zanzania Tours on a completely voluntary, unpaid basis by sharing knowledge, developing digital solutions, improving online services and introducing modern AI-powered tools where they can make a real difference. My goal is to help the team grow sustainably while allowing them to focus on what they do best: creating authentic experiences for visitors to Zanzibar.

It has been rewarding to see the team grow over time, and I am happy to contribute a small part to that journey.
